PPC Engine Question
Hi,
I tried targeting by content and keyword for my test ads but for some reason, I can enter in any keyword or place it on any content page and the test ad still shows up so it doesn't end up being very targeted. Do you know why this happens? |

Re:PPC Engine Question
Hello Hernard,
The basic system working is as follows. You have 2 types of adcode. Adcode for content and adcode for keyword. Adcode for content will get keywords from meta keywords, meta description and page title and try to show ads which match with these keywords. Adcode for keywords will render ads for the user/admin supplied keywords. If none of the advertisers ads are present, then public service ads(Ads created by admin from the admin area) will get rendered. There are 3 modes of operations 1)Keyword based In keyword based, ads will be displaying as per the keywords chosen. In that case you have to give the keyword in the <KEYWORDS HERE> portion within code. 2)Keyword Independent Search will be done independent of any keywords. 3)Both It works like both keyword based and keyword independednt. For the keywords chosen it will show ads and if you didn't chosen any keywords, no ads will be displayed. You can also set a default keyword for all ads created by advertisers. If you set some value for this, all ads created by advertiser will have the default keyword automatically. Also this default keyword will be considered always while ads are shown in web pages. If you have any queries feel free to contact us. Thanks and regards, Hima Shaji Customer Support Executive |

Re:Re:PPC Engine Question
Hi Shima,
Thanks for your reply. But here's what I mean. Go to: bloboo.com and type in any keyword. My test ad shows up regardless of what keyword i type in. The test ad is supposed to be only showing up for the keyword automotive and the default keyword. However it ends up showing for any keyword that is typed in and the code I placed on the page is the content display code which as you mentioned gets keywords from meta keywords, meta description and page title and try to show ads which match with these keywords. Is there anyway to fix this? Thanks! |

Re:Re:PPC Engine Question
Hello Hernard,
If you wish to display ads only for the specific keywords you have to choose 'keyword based' option from admin area or if you wish to show ads corresponding to the content you search you can choose 'content based' from admin area. Now as you said your test keyword is displaying for all search keywords it may be because you have chosen keyword independent search. In that case ads will be displayed for all keywords searched. Feel free to contact us if you need any help. Thanks and regards, Hima Shaji Customer Support Executive |
